Pourquoi avoir choisi les senteurs Ylang-Ylang et Ravintsara pour les premiers soins Ikala Ngita ?

Why did you choose the scents Ylang-Ylang and Ravintsara for the first Ikala Ngita care products?

Behind these scents, there are above all many memories.

When I was a child in Madagascar, we didn't have as many products adapted to textured hair as we do today. Imported products were expensive, and the treatments we found were often very greasy, sometimes poorly suited to certain textures.

The treatment that came up often was coconut oil.

I still remember that distinct smell: coconut oil prepared artisanally, heated over a fire, with an almost caramelized scent. And to perfume this oil, we would sometimes add ylang-ylang flowers.

This scent is part of my childhood memories.

That is also why I chose ylang-ylang for the first Ikala Ngita treatments. In Madagascar, particularly in Nosy Be, this flower sometimes scents the entire air when it is in full bloom. Even today, this fragrance immediately reconnects me to a part of my history.

Ravintsara is also part of these memories.

In Madagascar, this plant is almost essential. A slight cold? Ravintsara. Feeling tired? Ravintsara. This fresh and comforting scent is a part of many Malagasy people’s daily lives.

I chose these scents because they represent much more to me than just a fragrance.

They tell stories of memories, a culture, a feeling of comfort, and that connection to Madagascar that I continue to carry even after 17 years spent far from my country.

When I close my eyes in the shower with Ikala Ngita treatments, I sometimes feel like I am traveling home again .

And this is also the vision I wanted to convey through Ikala Ngita .

Be proud of your coils, be Ikala Ngita.
