Madagascan Ravintsara: the purifying and revitalizing ingredient for curly and coily hair

A Malagasy natural treasure… at the heart of our shampoo

In the world of hair care, some ingredients are unexpected, almost forgotten. Ravintsara is one of them. Used for centuries in Madagascar for its medicinal virtues, it is now finding a new place: in our hair.

At Ikala Ngita, we chose to integrate ravintsara into our Dio shampoo, not to follow a trend, but to honor a powerful active ingredient, respectful and deeply linked to our roots.

What is ravintsara?

Ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora CT cineole) is an aromatic plant grown mainly in Madagascar.
Its essential oil is known for being:

  • Purifying

  • Stimulating

  • A natural antibacterial and antiviral

  • A mental and physical tonic

In aromatherapy, it is used to support the immune system. But in cosmetics? It still has so much to offer.

🧴 Why use it in a shampoo?

The scalp is a living zone, sometimes irritated, clogged, or unbalanced.
Ravintsara, in well-controlled small doses, can:

  • Cleanse the scalp without irritating it
